Cool roof technology

The Delhi government has decided to use cool roof technology in the bus terminal and government building in the city. Due to this technique, in summer, passengers and employees working in offices will also realize the winter cool in the scorching sun. The government has decided to use this cool roof technique at Vivekananda bus terminal, Anand Vihar bus terminal, Maharana Pratap Bus Terminal at Kashmiri Gate and Delhi Secretariat. Come, know about this cool roof technology …

What is cool roof technology?

In cool roof technology, the roof is made in such a way that it can change the most amounts of light coming from the Sun. In this way, the heat caused by direct sun light will not absorb the roof and the temperature of the building will be low. This technique absorbs low heat than normal roofs, due to which the entire building is less hot.

In this technique, special material is used for reflection on roofs, which is capable of reflecting the ultra violet (UV) rays present in the light. The cool roof has a high temperature reflected, which leaves the absorbed heat rapidly in the air, due to which it remains cool than the traditional roofs.

Benefits of this technique

Due to low heat reaching inside the houses, people do not feel the need for air conditioning ie AC, due to which electricity is saved. Apart from this, this technique also helps in reducing the heat of the environment. Due to low heat absorbing, the room inside the building i.e. the room is quite cold.

How does it work?

A asphalt shingle made of fiberglass web is used to make ordinary roofs a cool roof. It contains a ceramic coating above fiberglass, which reflects the warm rays coming from the sun. Apart from this, wooden shingles, polymer shingles, clay tiles, concrete tiles, slate tiles are used in many places.

Not only this, metal shingles or tiles are also used for this. It reflects shingle rays as well as an insulator above the roof, which prevents the temperature from reaching the building walls and the room remains cool.
