Dhan Lakshmi Yojana: A few days ago, Dhanalakshmi Yojana was started by the Chhattisgarh government to promote the education of daughters, one of the objectives of which is to eliminate female foeticide from the state. Under the scheme, a provision has been made to give an amount of Rs 1 lakh to the daughters of the state at the age of 18 years by the Life Insurance Corporation of India. With the help of this amount, the daughters of the state will be able to become strong and self-reliant. There is a huge difference in sex ratio in the state. The government is trying to improve it under this scheme. Let us understand how the common citizens there can take advantage of this.
What is Dhan Lakshmi Yojana?
The biggest benefit of this scheme will be that it will prevent female feticide and promote the education of daughters. According to the scheme, on fulfilling all the prescribed conditions, an amount of up to Rs 100,000 will be given to the mother of the daughters under the insurance scheme. Which includes birth registration of the girl child, complete vaccination, school registration and education and not marrying till the age of 18 years. The amount given under the scheme will be given to them in installments. To avail the benefits of this scheme, it is mandatory for the girl’s parents to be permanent residents of Chhattisgarh, and registration of the daughter under this scheme is included at the time of the daughter’s birth.
When will you get the money?
- Rs 5,000 for registration at the time of birth of a girl child
- Rs 1,250 for vaccination
- Rs 3,500 on enrollment and completion of primary school education
- Rs 3,750 on enrollment for secondary school education up to class 8
- Insurance maturity cover of Rs 1 lakh when the girl turns 18 years old
