Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan
Lahore: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has filed a complaint in the police demanding a case of refusing to provide basic facilities to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and senior government officials in jail. 72 -year -old Khan, a cricketer -turned -leader, has been in jail since August 2023. Imran Khan has several cases registered and is currently in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.
There is no light in Khan’s closet
In his complaint against Maryam and 8 other jail officials, Khan wrote to the Rawalpindi police chief that he was also being denied basic facilities in the jail at his behest. Khan said, “On the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, his basic rights are also being violated as a prisoner. There is no light in the cell and my family members are also being denied the right to meet.”
Khan is isolated
Imran Khan said, “I have been completely isolated once again. Meetings from my family and lawyers have been postponed. To keep me completely separated from the outside world and ignorant of contemporary matters, every source of information, whether television or newspaper, has been completely closed.”
What’s happening to Bushra Bibi?
Khan said, “My wife Bushra Bibi is also being treated the same inhuman behavior, even our meetings have been banned. Out of dozens of books sent by my family, I have been given only four in the last 2 months, the rest have been confiscated. I have not been given permission to meet my personal doctor for a long time.
Khan named 2 officers
Imran Khan has also accused police officers Zainab and Aijaz posted at the post of Adiala Jail, of harassing their family members. Earlier, in a post on social media, Khan had said that despite being in a solitary imprisonment in jail, he is fighting for the true freedom of his country and he will remain firm until he gets his people free from slavery chains.
