What is the secret of Shiva’s voice and Om’s voice in Kailash Parvat or Mansarovar Lake?
Kailash parvat par om aur damru ki awaaz: Kailash Parvat and Mansarovar Lake located in the lap of the Himalayas are not just part of geography, but a lively symbol of faith, mystery and spirituality. This place is not only the floor of pilgrimage, but also the center of spiritual peace, cosmic energy and intense mystery. Even science has not fully understood some events of these sites. According to mythological beliefs, Mount Kailash is the center of supernatural powers. It is said that this place is the abode of many deities, due to which it is also considered to be the entrance to heaven. The devotees also believe that even today Lord Shiva is absorbed in deep penance here.
One of these mysterious events is to hear the voices of ‘Damru’ and ‘Om’ echoed around Mount Kailash and Mansarovar. Many travelers and seekers have claimed that when they approach Mansarovar or Kailash, they are constantly heard by a special vibration or sound, which is neither wind, nor water, but it seems as if someone is playing damru in a subtle form or the sound of ‘ॐ’ is coming out of the universe.
Is the sound of ‘Damru’ or ‘Om’ really heard?
Many devotees who have gone around Kailash Mountains say that they are constantly heard a vibrating sound when the peak of Kailash mountain or sitting on the banks of the Mansarovar lake. It is not a normal voice, but a mysterious ‘I … ॐ’ or ‘Damru’ echo, which does not come out of a device nor through any visual medium.
Some tourists have also told it as if an aircraft is flying up, but when they look up, there is no helicopter nor a plane in the sky. Then where does this voice come from? Is this the unseen sound of Mahadev’s Damru, or a glimpse of the original tone of the universe?
Science vision
From a scientific point of view, excessive height in the Kailash region, cold climate and special structure of ice together give rise to unusual movements of sound. Some experts believe that gradually melting of ice causes a certain vibration, which spreads into the atmosphere and produces a dawn sound.
The second theory says that the echoes of the special mountain structure and sound waves together create confusion of sound like ‘Damru’ or ‘Om’. When the rays of light collide with these icy areas, sound waves can also arise in the same proportion that gives an impression of a sound.
But surprisingly, this sound does not come as clear in a recording device as hearing from the ears. That is, this voice produces a mixture of the internal consciousness and environment of the person somewhere.
Religious approach
In Sanatan Dharma, ‘4’ is considered to be the original sound of the universe, which led to the beginning of creation. At the same time, Damru is a very powerful symbol of Shiva, whose nads on the process of both destruction and creation are started.
In such a situation, many people believe that the arrival of such divine sounds from there, which is considered to be the abode of Shiva itself, is a spiritual truth. The land, air, water and sky there, all together produce a vibration that is heard not only physical, but at the spiritual level.
According to saints and yogis, this sound is heard not only from outside, but also at the level of mind, soul and consciousness, and it is called ‘Anhad Naad’, which only experiences those who are in a state of meditation, devotion and complete dedication.
Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra attraction
Every year thousands of devotees go on Mansarovar Yatra, but not everyone has this experience. This experience is only those who reach there with a calm mind, open consciousness and a holy heart. The energy there is of such a highest level, that the grossness of the body and mind reaches to a subtle level, where this sound is clearly heard.
This is the reason that Kailash is also called the balance site of the five elements, and the Mansarovar lake is the ‘water of the gods’. The nature, snow, water, vibration and air, all together experience cosmic sound.
