1. Nirjala Vrat: On the festival of Hariyali Teej, women keep Nirjala fast on this day, that is, renounce food and water.
2. Sixteen makeup: On this day women specially make sixteen makeup. Green has special significance, so applying green clothes, bangles and mehndi is considered auspicious.
3. Applying Mehndi: Sinjara festival is celebrated a day before Hariyali Teej, in which sweets, clothes, jewelery and mehndi are sent from the maiden to the daughter-in-law. On this day, women create mehndi on their hands and feet in various artistic ways.
