What was the real gesture of Suyash Sharma behind this celebration against PBKS? Told yourself the whole story
RCB’s young leg-spinner Suyash Sharma rocked his fatal bowling against Punjab Kings in Qualifier-1, but after the match, a special celebration made the most headlines. The real meaning of this celebration that went viral on social media has now been told by Suyash himself. He also said that despite poor performances in the last few matches, he maintained trust in himself.
After RCB’s brilliant victory, while Salt’s fifty was in the headlines, there was another player who brought Punjab to Suyash Sharma completely on his knees. The young leg spinner put a tremendous spell of 3/17 in Qualifier-1 and wreaked havoc in the middle hours that Punjab could never return.
On the slow pitch of Maharaja Yadvindra Stadium in Mullanpur, Suyash took important wickets like Shashank Singh, Musheer Khan and Marcus Stoinis to make Punjab batting lineup light. Punjab collapsed for 101 runs in just 14.1 overs and RCB got the target in just 10 overs and hit the final in the final.
After the match, RCB shared a video on his X (first Twitter) account, in which Suyash Sharma revealed his viral ‘My Ground’ celebrations. Suyash said, “This was my signal. I was telling everyone that I have come back. Don’t forget me.”
He told that the last few matches were not good for him, and he had to talk to himself. Maintained trust in itself and showed by performing when the team was the most needed. Suyash said, “I was quite disappointed after two matches. But I did not doubt. I knew what I could do. And when this opportunity came, everything went well. So that celebration came.”
RCB captain Rajat Patidar also praised Suyash. He said, “The way he took control in my wicket -taker bowler Suyash middle overs was amazing. This is his strength.” Head coach Andy Flower also said that “on such a pitch, what Suyash did, he set the match for us.”
RCB is now a step of the title in the finals to be held on June 3 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. And if Suyash continues to wreak havoc like this, then the first RCB title does not look far away.
