This will benefit both countries. This statement was made by Jam Kamal in a program of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), which took place on the third day of his visit to Bangladesh. On Thursday, he met with Bangladesh’s Interim Government Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin.

Both countries are trying to get closer

Pakistan and Bangladesh relations had come to an end in the last few years, especially in 2010 when the previous government of Bangladesh started a trial against Pakistani army colleagues in the 1971 war of independence. But now, after the arrival of Muhammad Yunus -led interim government, both countries are trying to get closer. Jam Kamal reached Bangladesh on Thursday, and Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is also going to reach Dhaka on Saturday. According to officials, during the visit of these two ministers, five countries are expected to be signed.

Business of $ 865 million in 2024-25

Last year, there has been an increase in trade between the two countries. In 2024-25, the total trade of the two countries reached US $ 865 million. Bangladesh’s export to Pakistan was $ 78 million, which is 20 per cent higher than the previous year. At the same time, Pakistan’s exports have also increased by 28 percent. This new enthusiasm and mutual coordination of both countries hopes that their economic relationship will be stronger in the coming days.
