When DAP fertilizer was not available, the farmer drank pesticide
Hisar. A farmer resident of Bhikhewala in the new grain market of Uklana committed suicide by drinking pesticide. According to family members, deceased farmer Ram Bhagat was troubled for the last several days due to non-availability of DAP fertilizer for sowing. On receiving information about a farmer drinking pesticide in the grain market on Wednesday, police reached the spot and sent Rambhagat to Uklana General Hospital for treatment. From here the doctors referred him to Barwala. Dr. Umed told that the farmer had died by the time he reached here. Randhir Singh alias Bheera of the deceased family says that Rambhagat was worried about not getting DAP fertilizer. He was searching for fertilizer for several days but could not find it. He had watered the field a long time ago and the land was drying up.
The farmer is suffering from vomiting, due to not getting DAP he drank pesticide. Deceased Rambhagat’s father had died earlier and his four sisters are married. He was living his life by farming with his wife and two children. He was a farmer of about two acres. On the other hand, ASI Sanjeev from Uklana police post said that till now neither has he received any message from doctors nor has any such complaint been received. If there is any complaint or complaint regarding this matter, the police will take action.
