  • In August 1998, a cloud was cracked in the Kali Valley of Kumaon district of Uttarakhand. According to reports, around 250 people died in the incident.
  • On the date of August 17 in 1979, a cloud was cracked in Kunthha of Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand. 39 people lost their lives in this incident.
  • The capital of Maharashtra, Mumbai, caused a lot of devastation due to a cloudburst in July 2005. More than 450 people died in the disaster.
  • In August 2010, there was a cloud in Leh. Around 250 to 600 people were killed in this natural disaster.
  • In the month of September 2012, a cloud exploded in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, in which about 45 people died.
  • In September 2014, there was a cloud in the Kashmir Valley. About 200 people were killed in it.
  • On the date of August 16 in 1991, 26 people died after a cloudburst in Chamoli, Uttarakhand.
  • About 103 people were killed in a cloudburst in Bhenti-Poundar village of Ukhimath tehsil of Rudraprayag between 11-19 August in 1998.
  • On August 18 in 2019, 21 people died due to cloudburst in Arakot in Mori tehsil of Uttarkashi district.
  • Who can forget the devastation in Kedarnath on 16-17 June in 2013. More than 5000 people died in this disaster and a large number of people went missing.
  • In 2025, clouds erupted several times in Mandi, Himachal. 15 people were killed and 27 others are still missing in the incident.

In Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, there has been tremendous destruction due to cloudburst in Harshil’s Dharali. Due to cloudburst, a flash flood came into the Kheer Ganga, which destroyed the entire area. NDRF, SDRF and Army are engaged in rescue operations.
