When is kajri teej 2025: ‘Kajali Satwa Teej’, commonly known as Kajri Teej, is celebrated on the Tritiya Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. What do Bhadrapada do on Teej day? The fast of Kajri Teej is very difficult like Karva Chauth and Suhagin women keep it free. The main functions to be done on this day are as follows:
1. Fasting and worship: On this day, women get up early in the morning and bathe and take a pledge to fast. In the evening, she worships Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati by doing sixteen adornments. Neemdi Mata is also worshiped in some places.
2. Sattu and dish: Sattu has special significance in this fast, hence it is also called Satudi Teej. Women make dishes and sweets made of barley, gram, rice and wheat sattu to open the fast.
3. Arghya to Moon: After worshiping in the evening, women wait for the moon to leave. When the moon comes out, the fast is opened by offering arghya. Sattu, fruits or sweets are consumed after offering arghya.
4. Songs of Jhulana and Kajri/ Kajali Satwa Teej: On this day, women swing in homes and sing folk songs together called Kajri songs. This tradition further enhances the beauty of this festival.
5. Worship of cows: In some areas, cows are also worshiped on this day and they are fed green grass or bread. Cows are considered religiously very sacred.
