SL Bhojegowda’s statement on dogs

Following the Supreme Court order over stray dogs, a new debate has spread across the country. Meanwhile, a shocking statement of a Karnataka leader has come. SL Bhojgowda, a member of the Karnataka Legislative Council and leader of the Janata Dal Secular (JDS) party, said that he had killed 2,800 dogs to ensure the safety of children. He even said that even if he has to go to jail for this, he is ready.

“Animal lover is another threat”

Speaking in the Legislative Council, MLC SL Bhojegowda said, “We are also worried about animals, but animal lovers are another threat.” Referring to the attacks on children, he said that we get to see news about this on newspapers and TV daily. Recalling his old days, he said what happened once he was the president of the civil body in Chikmagalur, he killed about 2,800 dogs. He said, “We mixed some dogs in the meat and then buried them under coconut trees … If needed to protect our children, then you will also go to jail”

Bhojgowda demanded that a petition be filed in the Supreme Court … Karnataka should become the first state in India to demand action against dogs from the Supreme Court. Explain that the Supreme Court has issued an order asking to remove all the stray dogs of Delhi-NCR and send it to the shelter home. The Supreme Court has directed to complete it within eight weeks.

Increasing incidents of dog attacks

At the same time, after the attack on two college students in Bengaluru, the matter was also echoed in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. Two students of Ambedkar School of Economics University in Bengaluru were attacked by dogs, after which they had to be hospitalized. Last month, a 70 -year -old man was killed by a flock of dogs outside his house in Kodigigahali. Earlier, a three -year -old girl was attacked by dogs in Shimla Nagar, Old Hubli. CCTV footage showed that the dogs were dragging the girl on the ground and cutting many places on her body.

Following these incidents, Karnataka Lokayukta Justice BS Patil has reprimanded Bangalore’s civic body, Brihat Bengaluru Municipalities (BBMP) for failure to deal with the problem of stray dogs. He said that BBMP did not follow the instructions to set up an observation home for aggressive dogs.
