Constant action is being taken against corruption in Odisha. In this sequence, the Vigilance Department raided the residence of Baikunth Nath Sarangi, Chief Engineer of RW Department. During this raid, cash worth ₹ 2.1 crore has been recovered so far. There is still a search. The Vigilance team raided 7 locations including Bhubaneswar, Angul and Pipili in Odisha. This action was taken under allegations of corruption and having disproportionate assets. The raid consisted of 8 DSPs, 12 inspectors, 6 ASIs and other officials.

Explain that during the raid, ₹ 1 crore cash was received from the flat present in the PDN Exotica apartment of Bhubaneswar. On the other hand, ₹ 1.1 crore cash has been seized from his two -storey house located in Angul. So much cash has been recovered here that machines have been called to count it and the counting of notes is still going on. Not only this, during this raid, Baikuntha Nath Sarangi, who was present in the flat in Bhubaneswar, threw out the bundle of ₹ 500 notes from the window. Their purpose was to hide illegal cash, but the Vigilance team immediately seized the notes in the presence of witnesses.

Action in disproportionate assets case
According to the Vigilance Department, this investigation is being done in the case of earning disproportionate assets by Sarangi. Officials are now investigating their bank accounts, investment, assets and other economic sources. It is believed that there may be more big revelations later.
