When Sarfaraz does not have to give a chance, why is India chosen in India? Akash Chopra lashed out at selectors

When the BCCI announced Team India for the England tour, Sarfaraz Khan’s name not being named was shocking for cricket fans. The batsman, who made his debut in 2024, has played 6 Tests so far and has proved himself on many occasions. Nevertheless, many people are not digesting them and now the pre -cricket and commentator Akash Chopra has also reacted sharply to this.

Team India’s Test team was announced before India’s tour of England, but Sarfaraz Khan was not named in it. Sarfaraz has proved himself continuously with his performance in the last few months, yet he is not getting a chance to get a chance. Sarfaraz, who made his Test debut in 2024, has so far scored 371 runs in 6 Tests, including a century and three half -centuries. His brilliant 150 -run century came in the Bengaluru Test, which he hit against New Zealand. However, he flopped in the rest of the matches of that series and India suffered a 3–0 embarrassing defeat.

After this, he did not get a chance in a single Test even on Australia tour. Now when the turn of England tour came, the selectors completely ignored Sarfaraz and Karun Nair was returned after seven years. Also, Sai Sudarshan was given a place in the Test team for the first time. However, Sarfaraz did not give up. He is currently with the India A team in England and there is also a great performance there. He first scored 92 runs against England Lions and then scored a century in just 76 balls against the senior team in an internal squad match.

Regarding this, the former cricketer and commentator Akash Chopra of India has questioned the BCCI. On his YouTube channel, he said, “What is Sarfaraz done so wrong? In a match he scored more than 90 runs and then could not play the next match. Now the team is not part. You have never given him a chance in England, Australia or South Africa, then how can you say that he has failed?” Chopra further said, “If you think he can score runs, then you have chosen him in India A. Then why not in the senior team? If you are already decided that you will not give him a chance, then why sent it to India A too? This story does not look right.”

Chopra’s talk may increase the resentment of fans for Sarfaraz. Now it will be seen whether the BCCI gives Sarfaraz Khan a chance in the coming time or he will keep waiting in domestic cricket.
