Rajkumar Santoshi’s film China Gate may not have achieved great success at the box office, but its villain left a deep impression on the hearts of the audience. The film’s villain Jagira was played by actor Mukesh Tiwari, who reminded people of Gabbar Singh of Sholay with his strong acting. 27 years have passed since the film released, but Jagira’s dialogues are still on people’s tongues. The special thing was that there were many big stars in this film, yet Mukesh Tiwari caught everyone’s attention with his acting. This was his first film and he worked hard to mold in the role of Jagira.

Mukesh Tiwari was not bathed for 50 days

In the film, Mukesh Tiwari got the role of a brutal dacoit Jagira, who lived in the mountains. Mukesh stopped bathing for about 50 days to make this character real. He wanted to look dirty, so that Jagira’s look seems even more scary. He always used perfume to avoid the smell. During the shooting, eagle-horses used to hover around the mountains. He neither used to shave nor got a haircut, due to which people ran away in fear. Once during the shooting, his horse got out of control while riding on a horse and he fell and injured. Still he did not give up and continued shooting. His famous dialogue, ‘I like my mind, I ate a dog and ate’ still remains popular on social media.

There were veteran actors in the film

In this film, many veteran actors shared the screen with Mukesh Tiwari. Which included the names of veteran artists like Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Amrish Puri and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Despite this, Mukesh Tiwari became famous overnight by playing the role of Jagira. However, after this he did not get work for two years. Later, Rohit Shetty’s Girman Bhai’s role in the Golmaal series brought him back to the limelight. In this role, he was so liked that people still call him recovery brother.
