Where will there be a mock drill in Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep? Is your district involved somewhere

The Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered mock drills to be done in many states of the country due to increasing security concerns after the Pahalgam terror attack. This mock drill will be done on Wednesday 7 May. The government said that 244 districts of the country will have a mock drill simultaneously. These include Kellers, Karnataka and Lakshadweep Union Territories.

Mock drills will be held in these districts of all three states

On behalf of the government, on Wednesday, there will be a mock drill in Bangalore Urban, Malleshwara, Raichur district of Karnataka. Along with this, mock drills will be done on Wednesday in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram districts of Kerala. It also includes Union Territory Lakshadweep. There is to be a mock drill in the capital Kavarti here.

Preparations will be reviewed

The purpose of mock drilling everywhere simultaneously is to increase emergency preparations and public safety mechanisms. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan is going to review the preparations with Chief Secretaries and Civil Defense Heads across the country at a video conference on Tuesday.

Siren will play

According to the official information issued by the fire service, the Directorate General of Civil Protection and Home Guard, the mock drill will involve the ongoing siren warning, cleaning and repairing bunkers and trenches and training citizens on protective measures during hostile attacks.

Shadow control room will be tested

Other major activities have to apply crash-blackout protocol. Hiding important installations, updating withdrawal plans and testing communication lines with the Indian Air Force through the hotline and radio systems. Control room and shadow control room will also be tested for operational readiness.
