Let us know which agencies can investigate this accident and what the rules say.

Earlier the Directorate of Air Safety used to investigate the plane crash

Under the aircraft Rules 1937, the Air Safety Directorate of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) used to investigate the aircraft accidents. The Government of India decided to set up a bureau separate from DGCA, according to the Standards and Rickmanded Procedure (SARPS) released by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) later. Also the aircraft (investigating accidents and events) Rules, 2012 were prepared.

Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (AAIB)

The Government of India established a bureau in the Ministry of Civil Aviation on 30 July 2012 with the objective of investigating aircraft accidents. Its name is the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau of Investigation (AAIB). The rules were later revised again. Currently investigation work is being done as per the revised aircraft rules 2017 and aircraft amendment rules, 2021. AAIB has been given the right to immediate and unrestricted access to all relatives from any agency/organization, which does not require prior consent from judicial bodies or other government officials. In this way, AAIB will also investigate the Ahmedabad aircraft accident.

Boeing will also cooperate in investigation

Boeing had a 787 Dreamline aircraft in Ahmedabad Plain Cresh. So Boeing will have to assist Aaib in the investigation of this incident. In addition, inputs from ATS, ground staff, CISF, fireworks and rescue teams will also help in investigation.

This US agency can also help in investigation

The US National Transport Safety Board (NTSB) agency can also help in checking the Ahmedabad plane crash. According to the Chicago Convention of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the agency participates in investigating aviation accidents and serious incidents outside the US. If there is an accident related to the American registered passenger plane, American operator, designed or built plane in a country, and if it is called the country, NTSB can go to that country and help in checking the accident.

NTSB was involved in the investigation of the Kozhikode accident

The AAIB team investigated the aircraft accident in Kozhikode in 2020 with the help of Airport Authority of India officials, ATS, Ground Staff, CISF, Fire Team and Rescue Team. At that time, the US National Transport Safety Board (NTSB) also sent a member to assist AAIB.
