Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan were married in 1987. After marriage, the couple spent more than three decades together with great love.

Xi once revealed that despite her busy schedule, he used to call Peng daily. He said, “After getting married for more than a decade, I call my wife daily, although we don’t have much time to live together.”

She was a secretary of the Communist Party in Jhejiang province of China when she was married to Xi Jinping. In a TV interview in 2004, he said, “My family is very happy. Both my wife and me have their own different career, but we work together to pursue the family.” Their busy career often kept them away from each other, but through small but meaningful efforts, their relationship deepened and still persists.
