The 50th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 was very special. The match was played on 1 May between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians (RR vs mi). Which was played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. In this match, Rajasthan’s team appeared differently. In fact, the Rajasthan Royals team wearing a pink jersey instead of their traditional blue jerseys, got into the field and caught everyone’s attention.
The match was named “Pink Promise Match”. In such a situation, we know why Rajasthan Royals (Rajasthan Royals) descended into the field wearing pink jersey.
Why did Rajasthan Royals wear the entire pink jersey?
This special initiative of Rajasthan Royals is dedicated to women empowerment and rural development. Under the “Pink Promise Match”, 100 rupees from every ticket sales will be given to the development projects led by women in rural Rajasthan. This work is being done through the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF), which is the philanthropic branch of the team and has been engaged in community development for years.
During the match, a picture of Rajasthan Royals Ryan Parag and Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya with a woman with a woman beautifully showed the spirit of the initiative. In the picture, the woman was seen wearing a traditional pink saree, which deepened the importance of this color.
Not only this, Rajasthan Royals have promised to install solar panels in six houses in Sambhar region instead of every six in the match. Last year too, 260 houses were illuminated with solar energy under this initiative. The special thing is that four women engineers themselves did the work of planting these solar panels, who were trained by RRF. These women are now also handling the maintenance and repair work of these solar panels, which is promoting the skill development and self -reliance of rural women.
The amount received from the sale of Pink Jersey will also be spent directly on the project related to women. This is the second consecutive year when Rajasthan Royals played in this special jersey. Last year, this jersey was launched for the first time against Royal Challengers Bangalore and was still appreciated.
