Morne morkel on kuldeep yadav: India’s decision to keep Kuldeep Yadav out of the playing XI in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England is now raising serious questions. The ineffective performance of Indian bowling in the Manchester Test has become a topic of discussion, which has intensified the criticism of Kuldeep Yadav’s absence.

Let us tell you that the fourth Test match between India and England is currently being played at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester from 23 July. Indian team bowling coach Morne Morkel has finally broken his silence on Kuldeep Yadav’s absence and has given the reason for ignoring Kuldeep by the team management led by Gautam Gambhir.

Morkel told the reason for keeping Kuldeep out

Morne Morkel said in a press conference after the third day’s game, “We are trying to add batting depth in the team. Kuldeep is a world class bowler and is currently bowling very well, but we had to sit on them to maintain balance in the team.” He admitted that India had lost wickets in the cluster in recent matches, so it was considered necessary to keep the batting strong.

Serious questions on the selection decisions of Gautam Gambhir

The team management led by Gautam Gambhir and Shubman Gill did not give Kuldeep a chance in place of injured Akash Deep and Nitish Reddy. Arshdeep Singh was also injured, so it could have been a sensible step to include Kuldeep. But his place was included in Shardul Thakur and Anshul Kamboj, who was making his debut, who could not leave the impact.

Jasprit Bumrah is bowling carefully after recovering from injury, while Mohammad Siraj appeared tired. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar definitely took 2-2 wickets, but there was no edge in their spin which was necessary on a dry pitch.

Kuldeep used to join Manchester

Morne Morkel admitted that the pitch was helpful for the spinners and a bowler like Kuldeep could benefit. He said, “We are looking for a way to include Kuldeep in the team, but it depends on the stability of our top-6 batsmen.”
