‘Why is there a ruckus …. There is still a month left’, why did the Election Commission say on SIR
Election Commission spoke on Bihar SIR
Assembly elections are going to be held in Bihar this year and preparations for this are going on loudly. The Election Commission is also ready for this and is running a special intensive revision campaign, which is going on. Meanwhile, according to the Election Commission, the form of calculation of a total of 7.24 crore voters (91.69% of the population) of Bihar has been received and out of it, 2.83% i.e. about 22 lakh voters have been found dead. Regarding the dispute, the Commission said that there is unnecessary uproar because there is still a lot of time left to register objections.
The first phase ends-the election commission
The Election Commission said that in Bihar, 4.59% i.e. 36 lakh are such voters who have either been transferred permanently or have not been able to get physically. At the same time, the names of 0.89% i.e. 7 lakh people were found duplicate, which were recorded in more than one place. The Election Commission said on Sunday (27 July 2025) that the first phase has ended.
Why are there a ruckus
According to the commission, the enumeration form (calculation form) of 1.2 lakh voters has not been received yet. The Commission said, “When the entire one month is available from 1 August to 1 September to incorrectly involve any name or to get out, why are they creating so much uproar from now on? (Political parties) why did they not ask their 1.6 lakh BLA to submit claims and objections from 1 August to 1 September?”
Regarding the uproar, the Commission said, “Why are some people trying to make the assumption that the draft list is the final list, while it is not. As is in the orders of SIR?” Regarding those who did not meet their address, the Election Commission said, “These people have become voters either in other states or union territories or were present there.”
