India Ashok Krish, the Global Head of AI Unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest IT company, said that AI will promote the creation of new technology and give a new shape to the nature of work. He said that AI should be seen as a catalyst of skill change, not from a danger perspective to jobs. Krish said in a special conversation with PTI that AI is not just a technology change, but a cultural change that needs to change the way people work along with such execution.

AI is just the next generation of development

In the last three decades, frequent waves have been observed from disruptive technologies-mainframes to internet, e-commerce, digital and cloud. Each change has created fears and sometimes ‘frightening’ feelings about future possibilities. Looking at the broad trend, he said that AI is just the next generation of development, which will finally lead to the construction of more technology, as it makes the entire process easier.

AI is a great opportunity for skill development

Ashok Krish said, “Therefore I think it is wrong to see Artificial Intelligence from the perspective of reducing jobs and this is a great chance of skill development.” He said that AI will expand the current technology, but the nature of the work to be done through it will be different.
