According to the prophecy, “When the disrespect of the pilgrimage and the gods will increase, then in the coming time, Badrinath Dham and Kedarnath Dham will disappear in the Kali Yuga.”
The verse of Skandpuran makes it even more clear:
Kaliyug Kshye Get Badri Narayanam Hari. Apasrian ice
It means: “At the end of Kali Yuga, Lord Narayana (Badrinath) will depart from the Himalayan region to another place. Similarly, Lord Kedar (Shiva) will also be located at other places except the Kedar region.”
According to Skandpuran, when Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham disappear, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva will live at some other place. He will see the same devotees who will have immense faith and devotion. It is a sign that the importance of physical temples will become secondary, and internal purity and devotion will be paramount.
Relation of Lord Narasimha Dev’s Deity and Prophecy
Another important aspect associated with this prediction is the Deity of Lord Narasimha Dev located in Joshimath. It is believed that when the hands separate from the Deity of Lord Narasimha Dev (that is, the fingers slowly start to become thin and eventually break), then the existence of Badri Dham will end and its path will stop forever.
What events are indications of prediction
Recently, on 15 June 2025, all pilgrims died in Rudra Prayag’s Helicopter Crush. Earlier in 2013, some people also consider the horrific disaster in Kedarnath as a glimpse of this prediction. Some people consider it symbolic as a modern approach according to the current circumstances that if we destroy the environment, religion will go away from us.
