Kerala nurse Nimisha Priya’s death sentence has definitely received some relief, but no final decision has been taken regarding the hanging so far. Meanwhile, the suspense over the hanging has once again deepened due to the statement of the deceased Abdo Mehdi’s brother. According to media reports, Abdo Mehdi’s brother said that she cannot be forgiven for the kind of crime Nimisha has committed.

For how many years Nimisha has been in jail?

Nimisha Priya was accused of killing Abdo Mehdi in 2017. In the same case, the Supreme Court of Yemen sentenced him to death. Nimisha has been in Yemen jail for the last 8 years. He was to be hanged on Wednesday but the hanging at the last moment has been postponed till the next date. This has breathed a sigh of relief by his family members. Meanwhile, suspense has now deepened after Abdo Mehdi’s brother Abdelfattah Mehdi’s statement.

Meanwhile, Kerala State CPI -M Secretary MV Govindan said that he has been told that the death sentence has been postponed and many other aspects are also being discussed. He said that people are also talking to the family of officers and Abdo Mehdi in Yemen.

How can I forgive?

Only Abdo Mehdi’s family can apologize to Nimisha Priya. However, as the family differences emerged in the family, the religious people and officials involved in the conversation are trying their best to resolve the issue.

Now first of all, the family has to persuade the death sentence and when they agree, then ‘blood money’ will be handed over to them. Meanwhile, it is learned that blood money may be discussed in the next phase of the conversation. ‘Blood Money’ is a financial compensation given to the family of the person killed in exchange for an apology. This is a valid practice under Sharia law.

Kerala billionaire MA Yusuf Ali has expressed his desire to provide all kinds of financial help if needed. The Government of India is also engaged in solving this issue with full seriousness.
