Nainital: The Uttarakhand High Court has given great relief to a vaccine scientist Akash Yadav, who was found guilty of provoking his wife for suicide. The court has stayed his conviction and five -year jail sentence. Giving relief to Akash Yadav, a PhD (Ph.D.) degree from Kharagpur, the Indian Institute of Finance (IIT), the singles bench of Justice Ravindra Maithani said that the conviction of the scientist has been postponed in the widespread public interest.

Vaccine research work stopped

The court found that scientist Akash Yadav is actively engaged in the research and development of the vaccine and his work has stopped due to punishment. The court also said in its order that his research is widely very important for the society.

Akash Yadav was accused under the Dowry Prohibition Act after the death of his wife. A court in Rudrapur in Udhamsingh Nagar district acquitted him of dowry charges, but found guilty of abetment to suicide and sentenced him to five years rigorous imprisonment.

The argument to stop punishment?

Akash Yadav filed an appeal in the High Court against this decision. Previously, the court granted him bail and banned the implementation of the sentence until his appeal was pending. Later, Yadav also appealed to stop his conviction and argued that it is necessary for him to continue the important work of the development of the vaccine.

Court on suspicion of conviction

The court gave this order citing various legal examples related to the suspension and implementation of punishment. The court said that the implementation of punishment will be postponed till the appeal is finalized. Akash Yadav in bio -technology Ph.D. Are and are a distinguished scientist.
