Will reconsider stray dogs again: CJI Gawai
Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gawai on Wednesday assured to consider the ban on stray dogs from Delhi-NCR roads. CJI commented on hearing the plea of conference for human rights (India).
NGO Secretary Nanita Sharma had demanded the Supreme Court to fix the date soon for hearing in the case. When the CJI talked about the hearing of the case before, the petitioner cited the order of Justice JK Maheshwari’s bench in 2024, stating that dogs could not be unaccounted to murder.
Earlier on August 11, SC ordered all stray dogs to be removed from the residential areas of Delhi-NCR and sending them to the shelter home in view of the cases of dog bites and rabies. The court warned of strict action against the persons obstructing this work.
Supreme Court hearing 2 times taking notice itself
