Putin and trump meeting: Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump may soon meet in the United Arab Emirates. Putin said on Thursday that UAE is a possible site for his meeting with Trump. Putin made this announcement in Kremlin after a meeting with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. However, an official of the White House has raised doubts about this. The official says that it is difficult to meet until the Kremlin leader Ukrainian President Jailnsky agrees to a meeting.
‘Historical meeting may be’
Putin’s statement came at a time when US President Donald Trump has a deadline to end the war in front of Russia. Earlier, a Kremlin official said that Trump and Putin could meet early next week, although the date has not been confirmed yet. Russian President’s investment and economic support envoy Kiril -e -Dimitiva made it clear that preparations are going on for a possible meeting between Putin and Trump next week. On the social media platform ‘X’, Dimitiv said, “Russia confirms that the Putin-Trump summit may take place next week. Preparations for the summit continue. This can be a historical meeting. Dialogue will be successful.
Will Jailonski also join?
Asked who took the initiative of the meeting, Putin said that it does not matter. Both sides have shown interest in this. Speaking about the possible participation of Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky at the meeting, Putin said that he has mentioned several times that he is not against it. He further said, “This is a possibility but there is a need to create certain conditions for this.” The Kremlin had earlier said that Putin and Jailonsky should meet only when there is an agreement between them.
Will the war stop?
The meeting will be the first US-Russian summit after 2021, when former President Joe Biden met Putin in Geneva. This will be an important milestone towards Trump’s effort in ending the war, although there is no guarantee that the fight will stop as Moscow and Kiev are adamant on their terms of peace. Western officials have repeatedly accused Putin of obstructing peace talks to give the Russian army a time to occupy more Ukrainian land. Putin had earlier said that he would accept the agreement only on his terms.
