A pilot project of wireless EV charging infrastructure has started in Japan’s smart city Kashiwanaho. If this experiment is successful, it will be used in other cities and the country also. The wireless charging project for electric vehicles involves nine Tokyo companies, including tire maker Bridgestone, auto parts makers NSK and Denso, and Chibya University of Tokyo.
