Woman dies due to landslide on Amarnath route, journey stops

Heavy rains continue in UP. Ganga-Yamuna is in spate in Prayagraj on Thursday. 5 lakh population around the rivers is surrounded by water. The cremation ghat is flooded. The last rites are being performed on the streets.

On the other hand, due to continuous rains in Jammu and Kashmir, the Amarnath Yatra was landed on the route on Wednesday. A woman pilgrim was killed, three were injured in a landslide on Baltal road in Ganderbal district. The journey was stopped for the day.

109 people have died in Himachal since June 20. Also, government and private property worth Rs 818 crore has been lost due to heavy rains and cloudburst.

In Rajasthan, Dhaba village of Jhalawar is surrounded by water from all around. People are trapped on the roofs of the house. Water has entered the school-temple-office in Nagaur, Bahrod.

There are flood -like conditions in rural areas due to continuous rains in Mauganj district of Madhya Pradesh. People are going towards a safe place with goods.

At the same time, 20 people died due to lightning in different districts of Bihar on Wednesday.

Amarnath Yatra stopped, till now 2.47 lakh pilgrims have visited
The Amarnath Yatra was stopped for the day on Thursday after warning of heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir. The tracks need to be repaired immediately due to continuous rains for the last few days.

Due to this, it has been decided that no movement of any kind will be allowed on both routes today. However, passengers staying at the Panchatrani camp are being allowed to move towards Baltal along with BRO and mountain rescue teams.

The Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir said that the journey will start again from Friday on the basis of weather conditions during the day. So far 2.47 lakh pilgrims have visited the holy cave.
