Recently at a media event, the film’s heroine Shraddha Kapoor confirmed that work on Stree 3 is underway, which has increased the excitement of fans.
The biggest blockbuster of the year, Stree 2 has earned around Rs 600 crore at the box office. While everyone loved the film, it ended on an unexpected twist, leading to speculation of a sequel. Recently at a media event, the film’s heroine Shraddha Kapoor confirmed that work on Stree 3 is underway, which has increased the excitement of fans. He revealed that director Amar Kaushik already has a story ready for the third installment of the franchise. Shraddha shared, “When Amar sir told me that he had a story for Stree 3, I got very excited because I know it is going to be something amazing. I can’t wait to hear what it’s about.”
Speaking about her reaction when she first heard the script of Stree in 2018, Shraddha said, “When I heard the first part, I felt I had not seen such a script before. It was based on an urban legend and I literally fell off the couch while listening to it. I was very happy that he came to me. It was pure entertainment – I laughed at the dialogues and scenes, and I loved playing this mysterious girl who comes and goes.”
Looking at the success of the first film, Shraddha said, “The kind of love and appreciation that the first part received was immense. It all started from there. Hats off to the director, writer and producer for making the sequel. It is not important.” Make a sequel just for the sake of it – you need content to drive people to theaters and earn genuine appreciation. He remained firm on how the sequel should be made and crafted the story of Stree 2. It had all the entertainment factors, great actors. And really entertaining dialogue. I believe it was a great team effort.”
Apart from Shraddha, Stree 2 also featured Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana.
