World Bank President Ajay Banga meets UP CM Yogi Adityanath, know details
Ajay Banga, president of the World Bank Group, met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday at his government residence in Lucknow. Banga, who arrived in Lucknow on a tour of Uttar Pradesh, earlier said that his visit shows the increasing global interest in the rapid development of Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, as the state is moving rapidly towards its ambitious goal of becoming a US dollar economy.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also posted on the social media platform X about this meeting and also shared pictures in it. Banga will join the dinner at the Chief Minister’s residence. The World Bank chief is scheduled to visit the Beekeeping Center in Rajauli, Barabanki. There is also a program to meet women self -help groups (SHG).
Have also met Narendra Modi
Earlier, Ajay Banga met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. During this meeting, issues like infrastructure and agriculture were prominent in the agenda. According to the news, the World Bank has recently claimed in a report that excessive poverty in India (living less than US $ 2.15 per day) has come down from 16.2 percent to 2.3 percent in 2022-23 in 2011-12. Due to this, 17.1 crore people in India have come above this line. If we look at this figure, it is a way support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claims to reduce poverty.
UP sought help from World Bank in UP-Agris program
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said, “I welcome the President of World Bank Group Ajay Banga on behalf of the people of Uttar Pradesh in Uttar Pradesh. The productivity of agriculture in the western part of Uttar Pradesh is much higher than the eastern part. India’s development estimate reduced
The World Bank, however, reduced India’s development estimate for 6.3 percent a few days ago to 6.3 percent.
