World class bus stand will be made in Delhi, Root and number will be available on LED screen
Delhi The Rekha Gupta government is working seriously on changing the pictures of the capital. In this series, the Delhi government will remove the existing bus stand and set up new and world class bus stand. Delhi Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh said that the officials of the department have been instructed to rapidly take forward the work of converting the city’s bus Q Shelter (BQS) into modern, world -class facilities. The minister chaired a review meeting at the Delhi Secretariat, where the Transport Department presented the proposed BQS design.
Designs are being done after studying the current model of Singapore, London
The Transport Minister said that these advanced bus stand designs are being developed after detailed studies of existing models in international cities like Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Navi Mumbai, Singapore, London and China cities. The final design will be selected through an open competition. Once finalized, the project will pass through all stages including finalizing, construction, operation and maintenance.
Passengers will get bus information on digital screen
Pankaj Kumar said that the new bus shelter will have LED lighting and digital display boards, which will show the routes and numbers of buses for the facilities of the passengers. The minister said that the Delhi Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation (DTIDC) has prepared a plan to replace the old and broken bus stops in both urban and rural areas with advance and modern BQS. According to the department, currently there are 4,627 notified BQS locations in Delhi, out of which 2,021 are already operational.
1397 proposal to build new bus stops
Transport Department officials have recommended the use of stainless steel to construct the new bus stand. Currently, construction of 1,397 new bus stops is proposed, while additional 1,459 locations have been identified for future development – which will add more than 2,800 new BQS to the national capital in the near future.
