Xpeng received 31,528 orders 3 hours after launching P7+
The company said that the P7+ received 31,528 orders three hours after its launch, breaking the record of all other models in Xpeng’s history.
The company announced on Weibo today that as of 0:00 midnight Beijing time on November 7, the P7+ had received 31,528 firm orders, breaking the records of all other models in Xpeng’s history.
Xpeng launched the P7+ on November 7 at an event that started at 7:30 pm Beijing time, and announced the price and started taking orders around 9:00 pm Beijing time.
This means that the P7+ received 31,528 orders with non-refundable deposits in the first three hours of its official launch.
Last night, He Xiaopeng, president and CEO of Xpeng, said the sedan received more than 10,000 orders in the first 12 minutes of its launch.
Xpeng is offering two regular variants of the P7+, with starting prices of RMB 186,800 ($26,150) and RMB 198,800 respectively. There was also a limited edition of the model, limited to 500 units, with a starting price of RMB 218,800.
The limited edition of the P7+ is sold out and this version is no longer featured on the Xpeng app. Customers who order the two regular variants of the model now will have to wait for 7-10 weeks for delivery.
The P7+ is a medium to large-sized electric sedan with a length, width and height of 5,056 mm, 1,937 mm and 1,512 mm respectively and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
These dimensions are larger than the Xpeng P7i sedan, measuring 4,888 mm in length, 1,896 mm in width and 1,450 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,998 mm.
It is powered by Eve Energy’s lithium iron phosphate battery, with the entry variant having a pack capacity of 60.7 kWh and a CLTC range of up to 615 km. The long range version has a battery pack capacity of 76.3 kWh and a CLTC range of up to 725 kilometres.
The model is based on an 800 V high-voltage platform and can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 20 minutes using fast charging.
It is only available in the Max variant and comes standard with Xpeng’s driver assistance systems, with XNGP (Xpeng Navigation Guided Pilot) functionality available upon delivery of the vehicle.
Xpeng emphasized yesterday that the P7+ is being manufactured at its plant in Guangzhou, not in Zhaoqing like the Mona M03, so P7+ production will not be affected by the Mona M03’s capacity shortage.
