Fiji’s Prime Minister Sitweni Ligamada Rabuka has said that he told Prime Minister Narendra Modi that someone may be “very happy with you but your personality is so big that you can withstand those uncomfortable situations.” Rabuka shared the details of his dialogue with Modi in a conversation with the audience after delivering a lecture on the subject of ‘Shanti’s Ocean’ organized by the Indian Global Council (ICWA) at Sapru House here.
PM Modi and Rabuka discuss important issues
Fiji’s Prime Minister reached Delhi on a three -day visit on Sunday. The visit to PM Rabuka aims to strengthen Fiji’s relations with India in various fields such as maritime security, trade, health, digital technology and capacity building. India and Fiji on Monday prepared an action plan to promote defense relations and agreed to work jointly for peaceful and inclusive Hind-Pacific. PM Modi and Rabuka have also held important discussions on expanding bilateral cooperation.
‘Dialogue with US President’
After the ICWA lecture, a listener asked him about what he was told about his bilateral talks with leaders of various countries and the outlook of ‘Ocean of Peace’. Rabuka said, “I have not had any personal conversation with the President of America. I have requested a bilateral meeting with the President of Russia. I have a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Britain.” He said, “When we interacted, Prime Minister Modi repeated our feelings and concept.”
What did Rabuka say to PM Modi?
Rabuka said in detail, “Now, whatever is happening, it is affecting your relations with America. Recently, I told him (Prime Minister Modi) that some people are not very happy with you, but your personality is so big that you can face those uncomfortable situations.” (Language)
