A bulldozer was run on a monastery today in Raebag area in Belagavi district of Karnataka. On the orders of the Tehsildar of Raebagh, this monastery of Lokeshwar Swamy was grounded in Mekhali village on Thursday. Significantly, three days ago, the police arrested 30 -year -old Lokeshwar Swami of this monastery on charges of rape of a minor girl. After this, a bulldozer action has been taken on the monastery on Thursday for the government possession of the monastery.

Lokeshwar Swami arrested under Poxo Act

In the same month, the family of a 17 -year -old girl had sent the daughter to Lokeshwar Swamy in the name of curing the girl’s illness, but later the girl told in a police complaint that Swami took her to two different cities nearby and raped her in the hotel. On the basis of this complaint, the police arrested Lokeshwar Swami under the Poxo Act three days ago.

Accused of occupying government land

Even before this incident of rape, this owner was accused of occupying government land and making a monastery. The Tehsildar had sent a notice three times in the last 6 months and directed to vacate the monastery. In the investigation so far, it has been found that 7 years ago Swami started the work of the monastery by putting a shed on this land. Later gradually expanded it and illegally erected a large monastery.

Outrage against monastery

The Raebag Taluk administration issued the last notice to vacate the monastery 7 days ago but no initiative was taken by the monastery management to vacate the monastery. After this, this morning the administration drove a bulldozer on the monastery. After Swami’s arrest, the villagers also expressed outrage against the monastery. In the morning, Raebag Tehsildar arrived with JCB machines to demolish the monastery. The monastery was evacuated under strict police security and supervision of officials and then a bulldozer was run on the monastery.
