Zimbabwe announces team for the only Test against England, Alexander Raza returns
England vs Zimbabwe: The Zimbabwe Cricket Board has announced its team for the only Test to be held against England in Trent Bridge, Nottingham from 22 May. He has chosen a 15 -member team for this Test match, which also includes the name of Sikander Raza. This only match is quite important as it is Zimbabwe’s first Test match in England since 2003.
Zimbabwe recently participated in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, which ended 1–1. Zimbabwe made three changes in his Test team on a tour of Bangladesh, which includes star all -rounder Sikander Raza in place of Johnthan Campbell. Apart from Raza, Clive Madande also returned to the team after recovering from injury and later replaced Nyasha Mayawo as a backup wicketkeeper.
Vincent Mascasa, who took five wickets in his debut Test against Bangladesh, has also not been selected for this Test against England while Zimbabwe has chosen fast bowler Pneumon Nyamhuri. Zimbabwe’s head coach Justin Samans expressed confidence in his team’s ability to compete against a top-quality team like England and emphasized that his players should face the upcoming challenge and enjoy it.
Samans said, “In terms of performance, I hope we will play on a standard to compete with one of the world’s best teams. I really want to see the players to see that they are entitled to this place, they enjoy the moment and perform openly.”
