Jomato will now charge Rs 12 as platform fees on each order, which was earlier Rs 10. The company has increased the platform fees with the aim of making each of its orders more profitable before the festive season starts and to increase the profit of the company.

Platform fees of Jomato increased by Rs 2 by Rs 2

Let us tell you that the platform fee charged by Jomato is a type of service charge, which is charged to use the company’s platform. Jomato started recovering platform fees from April 2023 to order food from its users. At that time, Zomato used to charge just Rs 2 as platform fees from its users on each order. However, the company has increased its platform fees manifold in the last two-and-a-half years, due to which it has now increased by Rs 2.

Jomato delivers 23-25 ​​lakhs daily

According to a report by Moneycontrol, Jomato delivers around 23 to 25 lakh orders daily across the country. That is, with the platform fee of Rs 12, now the company will generate a revenue of about Rs 3 crore daily, which was about Rs 2.5 crore before Rs 10. With this, the company will get an extra revenue of about Rs 45 crore in every quarter.

Apart from platform fees, delivery charge also charge food delivery company

Jomato collects delivery charge from its customers in addition to platform fees on each order. Customers have to pay platform fees, delivery charge and restaurant fees and GST to order food online. Let us tell you that apart from Jomato, other veteran online food delivery company Swiggi also charges platform fees and delivery charge on every order from its customers.
