26 centuries, more than 7000 runs, Abhimanyu Easwaran knocked the door of Team India again by scoring a hat-trick of centuries.
Opening batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran, who is in excellent form, has again knocked on the door of Team India by scoring another century. In the Irani Cup match being played against Mumbai at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, Ishwan scored his third consecutive century in the current home season. He had earlier scored two centuries in the Duleep Trophy.
Playing for Rest of India, Easwaran remained unbeaten on 154 off 212 balls at the end of the third day. His innings came when captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sai Sudarshan, Devdutt Padikkal and Ishan Kishan failed to play big innings from one end.
Easwaran added 87 runs for the second wicket with Sudarshan, and 70 runs with Kishan for the fourth wicket. He has also made a half-century partnership with Dhruv Jurel for the fifth wicket.
29 year old Bengal cricketer Easwaran has an excellent record in first class cricket. So far he has scored 26 centuries in this format and scored more than 7000 runs.
Let us tell you that after Easwaran’s debut, only one Indian player has been able to score more first class centuries than him, which is Cheteshwar Pujara. Veteran batsman like Virat Kohli has also asked him, who has scored 25 first class centuries since Ishwan’s debut.
With his consistent performance, Ishwan has staked his claim for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting in November. Let us tell you that Easwaran has got a place in the Indian team three times before, but did not get a chance to debut. He was selected in the team for the England tour in 2021 and Bangladesh tour in 2022 and last year he got a chance to replace the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad on the South Africa tour.
