26 charging stations will be built on the expressway for electric vehicles
In view of the continuously increasing trend of electric vehicles in Uttar Pradesh, now the Yogi government will make arrangements for their charging on the expressway. The state government has decided to build 26 charging stations on four expressways. These charging stations will be built on Bundelkhand, Purvanchal, Agra-Lucknow and Gorakhpur Link Expressway.
A detailed action plan in this regard has been prepared by UP Industrial and Express Wage Authority (UPEDA). These will be prepared as per the EV policy of the state and the guidelines of the Ministry of Energy, Government of India. Apart from this, the government will also develop other passenger facilities along the expressway.
In the pre-bid meeting called by UPEDA, 11 companies have shown interest in setting up public charging stations. These include companies like Reliance, GMR Energy, Adani Total Energy, Belelectric, Light Zip Technology, EV Plexus, Siemens Limited, Cash and Drive, AM&CE E Mobility, Ampvolts and Razz and Shine. Interest was shown in the construction of public charging station. Is. Yogi government will give 2 thousand square feet space per station for 26 charging stations on a 10-year lease. The charging point operator will have to install fast charger for charging of two wheeler, three wheeler, four wheeler and e-bus. Besides, government norms will have to be followed for security also. The public charging station will have to be implemented within 180 days of providing the land. After 5 years of setting up a charging station, from the sixth year onwards the government will receive 5 per cent of the gross revenue of each charging station.

Apart from this, Yogi government will also develop way-side amenities along the Bundelkhand, Purvanchal and Gorakhpur Link Expressways. These will be developed on Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Transfer (DBFOT) basis. According to UPEDA officials, a complete action plan is also ready for way side amenities on all three expressways. This includes parking space for cars, buses and trucks, food and beverage outlets, dhabas, ATMs, free basic medical aid facility, small repair shops, pure drinking water, toilet and washroom facilities, budget hotels, separate parking for trucks. Facilities, warehouse, auto workshop will be provided, while landscaping, rain water harvesting and highmast lights will also be installed. Apart from this, banquet and wedding hall facilities can also be provided in future. All these facilities will be provided in one huge complex.
