Now after every test, changes are seen in the points table of the Test Championship. The condition of the Indian team, which played consecutive finals in the first two editions of the tournament, is looking bad this time. India’s path to the final is quite difficult. Three teams are contenders to snatch the final ticket from India. Let us know about those teams and their possibilities.

#3 Sri Lanka (Maximum Possible PCT 61.53)

For Sri Lanka, one Test is now left in South Africa and two at home against Australia. From here Sri Lanka can achieve a maximum of 61.53 PCT. However, for this they will have to win all three remaining tests consecutively. If this happens, Sri Lanka will qualify directly for the final. Two wins and a draw will take their PCT to 56.41, leaving them dependent on the results of other teams.

#2 South Africa (Maximum Possible PCT 69.44)

South Africa also has to play three home tests. His probable PCT can go up to 69.44. At the current stage, with four consecutive wins and three home games left, they are the favorites to reach the finals. With two wins and a draw they can go to 63.89, ahead of which only India and Australia can go.

Two wins and a loss will take them to 61.11 after which they have to hope for a Sri Lankan defeat or a draw. Also, we will have to expect India not to win more than three Tests and Australia not to win more than four Tests. A win and two draws will take them to 58.88 after which the rest will depend on results.

#1 Australia (Maximum Possible PCT 71.05)

Australia has to play four tests at home and two away from home. They can go up to a maximum of 71.05 pct. Five wins (65.79) or four wins and a draw (62.28) will ensure their top-2 finish. Despite losing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-3, Australia’s PCT can go up to 60.53, which will be higher than India’s 58.77. Meanwhile, only South Africa will have a chance to go ahead of them.
