Security tightened in Jammu and Kashmir today before Supreme Court's decision
Let us inform that in view of the Supreme Court's verdict today on the petitions related to removal of Article 370 and 35A, adequate security arrangements have been made in the entire valley. Extensive arrangements have also been made in Jammu. Especially social media will be monitored. Meanwhile, the movement of convoys of security forces has been banned in the entire valley. Besides, a ban has also been imposed on the convoys engaged in the security of VIPs. Along with this, some mischievous elements have been picked up in the valley, so that no disturbance occurs.
On behalf of IG Kashmir, a message has been sent to the army as well as officers of BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB and other security forces and all the police chiefs saying that no convoy will pass on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway and other highways. There will be dry day throughout the day. Along with this, convoys of VIPs and protected persons have been asked to completely avoid leaving.
IG VK Birdi said that we are committed to maintaining peace in the valley under any circumstances. All kinds of precautions are being taken. We will ensure that peace and order is not disturbed in Kashmir. Meanwhile, two founding members of a news portal have been arrested for spreading rumours.
Police and administrative officials say that adequate security arrangements have been made to ensure peace.
