These 3 players became stars overnight from IPL, but their careers ended due to money squandering, today they are living a life of anonymity.
IPL: IPL has provided a big platform to domestic cricketers to showcase their talent. Since its inception in 2008, IPL has given many great players to Team India who have become key players of the team today. But there were some players who performed brilliantly in the IPL and disappeared after a few days. Today we have brought for you a list of three such players who earned their name in IPL overnight and then disappeared from cricket.
1. Paul Valthaty
Paul Valthaty made a lot of headlines in IPL 2011. While playing for Kings XI Punjab, he played an inning of 120 runs in 63 balls against Chennai. This is still the highest innings by an uncapped Indian batsman in the league. After this he played many brilliant innings. But could not do anything special in the next season. In 2018, Mumbai South Central bought him for Rs 50,000 for the Mumbai T20 League. But even there he could not do anything special. Now his name is far away from cricket.
2. Swapnil Asnodkar
The first season of IPL was won by Rajasthan Royals. Goa's Swapnil Asnodkar had a big contribution in making Rajasthan Royals the champion in the first season. He scored 311 runs in 9 matches at an average of 34 and strike rate of 134. He was last seen playing for Rajasthan Royals in 2011. After retirement in 2018, he became the coach of Goa Under-23 team in 2019.
3. Kamran Khan
Former Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne used to give very high status to Kamran Khan. Warne often called him 'Wild Thing'. He could bowl at a consistent speed of 140 km/h. His strongest weapon was reverse swing which caused a lot of trouble to the batsmen with his ball. He showed amazing performance for Rajasthan Royals in 2009. Kamran had bowled the first super over of IPL and led Rajasthan to victory. In the first season, he took 9 wickets in 9 IPL matches while bowling at an average of 24.89. Warne had great confidence in him.
