New Delhi. The Supreme Court today (December 11) gave a historic verdict regarding the validity of Article 370. During this, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that the Central Government's decision to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir was within the ambit of the Constitution. He said that it is not right to question the decision of the Central Government. Now National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has reacted to this.

Conduct elections by 30th September

During the hearing against the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the Supreme Court has given instructions regarding elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The Supreme Court has said that assembly elections should be held here by 30 September 2024. Also, the Supreme Court said that after the removal of Article 370, the process of connecting Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India became stronger.

How was Article 370 repealed?

Article 370 was removed by the Central Government on August 5, 2019. Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave this information in Parliament. With the removal of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two union territories, one of which became Jammu and Kashmir and the other Ladakh. Amit Shah had said in Parliament that the provisions of Article 370 are discriminatory on the basis of gender, class, caste and place of origin. He had said that the youth are being deceived by the political elite. This provision was temporary and will have to be removed keeping in mind the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
