In Hinduism, Mokshada Ekadashi and Geeta Jayanti are celebrated on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha. Mokshada Ekadashi is considered very important in Hinduism. It is said that on this day Shri Krishna preached the Gita to Arjuna. Hence this Ekadashi is celebrated as Geeta Jayanti. This year Geeta Jayanti is being celebrated on December 22 (today). On this auspicious day, fasting and worship are also performed in Hinduism.
Many people recite Geeta on this day. Bhagavad Gita is the main scripture of Hinduism and is considered very sacred. It is said that the house in which this book is kept. Positive energy resides in that place. Also, regular recitation of Geeta brings happiness, prosperity and peace in the family.
If there is Gita in the house, follow these rules
- Bhagavad Gita is the most sacred book of Hinduism and its sanctity should be preserved. So keep it in a clean place in the house.
- While reading the Bhagavad-gita, one should never place it on the floor or hold it in one’s hand.
- Recitation of Gita should always be done after bathing and wearing clean clothes.
- Bhagavadgita should always be read on a wooden stool or on a board.
- After reciting the Bhagavad-gita should always be wrapped in a red cloth.
