New Delhi, December 22 (IANS). Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Friday criticized opposition MPs for creating ruckus in the Lok Sabha over the security breach on December 13 and said that despite Speaker Om Birla repeatedly saying that he is responsible for security, he still Didn't trust them. Meghwal said that the opposition parties are deliberately doing this to avenge the defeat in the recent assembly elections.

Responding to a question on the suspension of 146 MPs, Meghwal said, “Speakers are the guardians of Parliament. The Lok Sabha Speaker was repeatedly saying that security is his responsibility, why are they not trusting what the Speaker is saying?”

Taking aim at the opposition, he said, “They were deliberately looking to avenge their defeat in the elections. They were planning internally and they got the opportunity.”

He acknowledged that the breach in Parliament security is a big issue and said a committee has been formed and investigation is underway.

He also criticized the opposition on the mimicry controversy and said, “The Vice President (Jagdeep Dhankhar) was insulted. The Congress believes that it is only their right to rule. They believe that the Vice President should be the person nominated by them. They do not Can do. It is their mentality to insult Dalits, farmers and backward classes.

He also said that the action of opposition MPs at the Makar Gate of Parliament (imitating the Vice President) is a separate issue, but Congress MP Rahul Gandhi recording the video of that action and 'enjoying' it is unfortunate.

Meanwhile, on the passage of three criminal laws to replace British-era laws, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said, “Under the leadership of PM Modi, our Home Minister has brought about a major change. These criminal justice laws carry the colonial imprint. Our systems are designed as per our current needs, which will serve the country for the next 100 years.”

The three criminal laws were passed by the Rajya Sabha on Thursday and the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
