New Delhi, 22 December (Hindustan Reporter). Hockey India President and former Indian captain, Padma Shri Dr Dilip Tirkey on Thursday received an honorary PhD in Sports Science from Sri Sri University.

This distinguished honor acknowledges Tirkey's remarkable contribution to the game, underscoring his substantial impact on Indian hockey and his steadfast dedication towards its progress.

Tirkey's remarkable career, marked by his participation in multiple Olympics and World Cups, as well as his outstanding leadership on and off the field, reflects his commitment to fostering excellence in sport. Notably, he holds the record for most international appearances in Indian hockey, with a total of 412 caps.

This honor is a shining testament to Tirkey's extraordinary sporting spirit and his lasting impact in shaping the trajectory of Indian sports.
