Karnataka Days after the incident of school students being forced to clean soakpits in Kolar, another shameful incident of students being allegedly asked to clean toilets has come to light in a government school. In a video widely viral on social media, some students were reportedly seen cleaning toilets in Andrahalli in the city. Following the incident, parents of the students expressed their displeasure and protested outside the school premises. The family members demanded strict action against the administration. Officials said that taking immediate action in the matter, the education department suspended the school principal.
It is being told that from Bengaluru Andrahalli area of Bengaluru The toilets were cleaned by the students of the government school located in. Reacting to the incident, Karnataka Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar told reporters that he has called a meeting to gather information about the incident and assured strict action in the matter. “I have called a meeting. I will find out about it and get the actual report. A similar incident has happened in the past too and we have taken legal action against him,” he said, according to PTI.
Referring to the need to nurture children properly and make them strong, Shivakumar said that there is a system for cleaning toilets in schools. He said, “We should not misuse children. Earlier NSS, Seva Dal camps used to train children in cleaning gardens, planting trees, but we have not allowed anyone to involve children in cleaning toilets. Has given.”
Karnataka's Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa condemned the incident. He called it shocking and condemnable. “There is no doubt that we will take strict action as per the law. Moreover, I will ensure that such incidents do not happen again and all action is taken by our department,” the minister said.
