Six died in four accidents
Dhamtari.Four road accidents took place in Dhamtari district and border district Balod on 22 December. A total of six people have died in four accidents that took place within a short span of time on the same day and 14 people are injured, whose treatment is ongoing in hospitals. The police have been involved in the investigation of the case. According to the information received from the police, on the morning of 22nd December, Mahindra Travels bus full of passengers was going from Raipur to Jagdalpur when it overturned on the road near Markatola Ghat and collided with a truck. Due to the horrific accident, there was screaming among the passengers. Three front passengers of the bus were badly trapped and died on the spot. The bodies of the three were taken out after much effort with the help of police officers and soldiers, Shiva Pradhan of Blood Donation Group Ambulance Service Organization and people. The deceased include Dhamtari resident teacher Sanjay Raktate, 55 years old, Pandhirao Raktate Rampur ward Dhamtari, Lalit Kumar Sahu, 35 years old son of Sonaram Sahu, Ratnabandha Panchmukhi Hanuman Nagar Dhamtari and Mehndi Khan resident of Abhanpur.
It has been told that the deceased Sanjay Raktate was posted at Gitpahar School in Duban area of Kanker district, who was going to school by bus. Whereas the deceased Mehndi Khan is posted in RTO Kanker and the deceased Lalit Kumar has an auto center in Charama, where he was traveling by bus like every day. The incident happened during this period. After committing the incident the bus driver fled from the spot. Purur police station in-charge said that the police has gathered to find the accused. Family members of some injured passengers said that the speed of the bus was high and the vehicle could not turn near the ghat, due to which it rammed into the truck.
Purur police station in-charge Mr. Sinha said that 16 passengers traveling in the bus were injured. Four injured were admitted to private hospital Dhamtari. While 12 injured have been admitted to Charama and Kanker hospitals, where treatment is going on. Similarly, in another incident, a heavy vehicle engaged in the Bharat Mala Project hit the vehicle going in front at Village Chest National Highway in Kurud police station area. Due to which the passenger traveling in the truck died. In the second incident, ASI Jagdish Sonwani posted at Birejhar police station said that on Friday morning at 8 am, a tire of a car got punctured near Kalle Samrat Dhaba under Birejhar Chowki area on the National Highway. Gwalior resident Surendra Baghel was changing the tyre, when a heavy container vehicle hit Haiva hard from behind. In the accident, the jack fell and the driver Surendra Baghel, who was changing the tyre, died due to being crushed. In this case, a case has been registered against the container driver and investigation has been started.
In another incident, there was a massive head-on collision between a Haiva and a pickup coming from Dhamtari between Keregaon and Gattasili. In the accident, the pickup driver, youth Shubham Netam, resident of village Mohlai, died on the spot. While the Haiva driver is seriously injured, he has been admitted to Dhamtari hospital for treatment. Similarly, three vehicles, including a Haiwa and a container, collided with each other on the Nagari-Dhamtari road near Kumhdain Devi Temple under Keregaon police station on Nagari-Sihawa road. Police have started investigating the matter.
