Stuffed tomato gravy ingredients

  • 4 large tomatoes
  • 2 medium sized onions, finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup crumbled cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • salt to taste
  • cooking oil
  • Fresh coriander for garnishing
  • 2 medium sized onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • salt to taste
  • cooking oil

How to make Stuffed tomato gravy

In a mixing bowl add boiled and mashed potatoes, crumbled paneer, finely chopped onion, green chillies, ginger-garlic paste, chopped coriander, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and Add salt.

Mix well to make a uniform mixture. Now take big tomatoes and cut the top. Remove the pulp and seeds from the tomato, leaving a hollow space inside. Keep the mashed tomato pulp aside and fill the tomato bowl with the prepared stuffing mixture.

Make sure they are well filled. Take out the stuffed tomatoes in a plate. To prepare the gravy, heat oil in a pan or wok on medium flame. Add finely chopped onion and fry until golden brown.

Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for a minute until the raw smell disappears. Add finely chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and salt.

Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes become soft and the spices mix well. Now, add the remaining tomato pulp and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Transfer the tomato gravy to a blender and blend until smooth.

If necessary, you can strain the gravy to remove any tomato seeds or coarse pieces. Pour the tomato gravy back into the pan and bring to a gentle simmer. Carefully add the stuffed tomatoes to the gravy.

Cover the pan and let it cook on low flame for about 15-20 minutes, until the tomatoes are cooked and soft. Once cooked, garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
