Supreme Court grants bail to Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh
New Delhi. The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, accused in a money laundering case related to the Delhi Excise Policy scam.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna allowed Singh's bail plea. After hearing the arguments of the concerned parties, the bench said that we are granting bail to Sanjay Singh. He will be released pending trial. He can continue his political activities.
The court, however, asked Singh not to comment on any issue related to the Delhi Excise Policy scam. Before the apex court, central investigating agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) softened its stand and said that it has no objection if Singh is granted bail. ED had arrested Singh on October 4, 2023. He is lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail.
