Automakers like Hyundai, Toyota and Jeep will bring new 7-seater SUVs in India before the end of this calendar year. The market will soon see a lot of activity in the 7 seater segment. Here are all the details about all three cars.
1. Hyundai Alcazar Facelift
The new version of Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be launched in India in the second half of this year, with a design inspired by the recently launched Creta facelift. With significant updates to both its exterior and interior, the updated Hyundai Alcazar will boast of more advanced features and technology than the outgoing model.
Apart from the all-new front fascia with new grille section and lighting signature, the South Korean auto major will offer redesigned alloy wheels, new tail lamp design, Creta-like Level 2 ADAS, updated dashboard and center console, etc. However, the powertrain is not expected to change. The existing 1.5 liter turbo four-cylinder diesel and 1.5 liter turbo petrol engines will continue. Both manual and automatic transmissions will be available.
2. Jeep Meridian
The facelifted Jeep Meridian will be launched in the coming months and will come equipped with cosmetic changes and probably new exterior paint schemes. Although some new features are expected in it, no major mechanical changes are expected. The 2.0 liter four-cylinder diesel engine producing 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque will continue to power the SUV and will be sold with manual and automatic transmission options.
3. Toyota Fortuner Mild Hybrid
The Toyota Fortuner mild hybrid variant is expected to be introduced in India in late 2024 or early 2025 and is already on sale in overseas markets. It has a 48-volt mild hybrid system, similar to the system used in the Hilux MHEV, and it works with the familiar 2.8L four-cylinder GD series diesel engine. This will help reduce emissions and boost acceleration as well as improve mileage. There is no possibility of any external change.
